Suggest Treatment For Dry Tongue

I wake up every morning with a very dry tongue, and I know its from sleeping with my mouth open, but that is the only way I can sleep at the moment because I have some viral infection thing in my throat. So is there any way I can avoid the dry tongue situation?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain in case if you will sleep with mouth open then dryness in mouth and tongue will obviously occur due to continuous contact of the inside of the mouth and mucosas with the external air..
You should keep sipping water when you wake up at night and use a humidifier in your room..
There are certain xylitol patches available in the market that can be stuck on the cheek at night before sleeping and they will maintain a thin film inside mouth and limit up drying but in case of mouth breathing complete relief from dry tongue will not take place until you start practising nasal breathing and sleep with mouth closed..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
