Hi, I have had a dry cough and a sensitive feeling on my skin for the last 3 days. It has not been getting better nor worse. My throat doesn t hurt and the sensitivity, slightly achy and uncomfortable feeling on my skin is most prominent on my back. I don t feel 100% but not super ill either. Is it a virus?

Hello,

Dry cough is commonly caused by cold, allergy, upper respiratory tract infection, stress, acid reflux, pharyngitis, asthma, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined. Get a throat swab and sputum examination done. You will be treated accordingly. Gargle your throat with warm salt water 3-4 times a day. Take antihistamines to get relieve from allergy. Stay at rest, talk less.

Take cough expectorants with mucolytic like Benadryl for dry cough or Grillinctus L. It contains Levocloperastine and is used for dry cough. Suck on lozenges to suppress cough. Take semi solid food like oats meal, porridge, custard, etc. No smoking, stay away from addictions if any. Stay well hydrated. You can take a course of azithromycin to stay on the safer side. For achy back take acetaminophen, one SOS when required.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
