Suggest Treatment For Dry And Scaly Zit Below Lip

I have had a zit for over 4 monts. I attempted to pop it. The area had become dry and scaly. Once getting into it I noticed what looked like tendon or ligament bound in the middle of the zit which I thought was the head. Any ideas? They are long, white and look like a small rubberband. There are several coming from deep down up the side of my lip on the outside to the inside.

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have dry and scaly zit below lip, this condition occur most commonly due to excessive licking and picking of lips , which remove natural layer of moisture from lips and make them susceptible to crack ,redness and itchiness. There are other reasons also like skin allergy, dry weather , deficiency of vitamin B6 ,B12and stress. I would suggest you to avoid picking and licking of lips. Use lip balm containing SPF 15 to prevent then from sun exposure . because chapped lips are very sensitive to UV ray of sun. Keep yourself hydrated , drink at least 8 glasses of water. Also apply raw honey for 10- 15 minutes then wash away. If condition doesn't get better in a week then consult dermatologist for proper examination and rule out condition like allergic reaction or infection.
