Suggest Treatment For Dizziness With Headache And Chest Pain

hello, I am a 28 year old muscular male. I am the owner of a successful plumbing company and work a lot. I also smoke about a pack a day and drink 5 or so drinks 3 or 4 times a week. I have been not feeling good for about 2 years now. I almost fainted on a jobsite last year and took an ambulance to the hospital. The emergency room diagnoses was a panic attack. I was skeptical but I keep feeling like something is very wrong and I am going to faint, but I never do. I dump cold water on my head and wait for it to pass, sometimes it takes hours where I feel I am having a heart attack and going to faint. I have had an ekg, a ultrasound of my veins, and a heart stress test, all came back fine. So I have accepted it as panic attacks. I know I need to quit smoking but have been unsuccessful, are there certain things I can eat to help this..if so what? What about the headaches and chest pain? Thank you

Hello !
I read your question and understand your concern.
In my opinion the problems you have may be related to anxiety and panic attacks. The normal ECG and stress test allow to exclude heart rhythm problems . The fact that you feel like fainting , but you never do , is another argument in favor of panic attacks.
I would recommend you to avoid caffeine and alcohol as they have excitatory effects on the brain and can trigger panic attacks.
If I were your doctor I would recommend treatment with an antidepressant like Sertraline or Escitalopram for some months, which would be very helpful to you. These drugs are given under medical prescription and initiate their effects after 2 week from starting therapy. So you should be a little patient. They will also improve headaches.
Alprazolam, and anxiolitic would also be very helpful during panic attacks.
Hope to have been helpful !
Thank you for using HCM!
Best wishes Dr.Abaz Quka
