Suggest Treatment For Dizziness, Chills And Fever

M husband had severe abdominal cramping all night and all day. He has a low grade fever, some nausea, but no vomiting. Had some chills through the night. On Saturday, he felt dizzy and faint when out in a public arena. He has slight diarrhea, but nothing severe. Yesterday, he was in a clinic for a physical, and could have been exposed to a virus, but not sure. He did have the flu shot early in the start of the season. Was concerned it was appendix, but he has no localized pain in the side.

Hello and welcome to HCM madam..
I am sorry to know the health Condition of your husband.
Don't worry, it's common problem nowadays. Nothing severe.

I read your question completely and have understood it well..
I being a surgeon, we come across many such cases..
Actually, as you said there might be a viral infection.

You say the following things, and analysis to those
1. No vomiting, meaning 90 percent of the times you can rule out appendicitis. Also, appendicitis will have classical pain in the right lower abdomen.

2. Low grade fever and Abdominal Cramps.
Sometimes, mild colitis will present with these symptoms.

3. He has diarrhea too..
Again this points out to features of GI, gastro intestinal infection.

I suggest you these things..
1. Make sure, he eats well. No spicy, smoked food.
No non veg for few days, he can eat eggs.
No alcohol.

2. Reduce, tea coffee if consuming.

3. Start oral antibiotics and few other medications and he should be perfectly alright.
A. Tablet Pantoprazole 40 mg once a day, before breakfast for 10 days
B. Tablet Orni O, Ornidazole and Ofloxacin. This will take care of infection.
C. In case of severe pain, give him Tablet Buscopan 10mg.

Hope this helps, give him lots of oral fluids.
He should be fine.
Take care and God bless.
In case you need any further help please let me know..
