Suggest Treatment For Dizziness And Nausea

I had a cold about 2 months ago. After a couple weeks I started having problems with my left ear stopping up at night after I slept. After a few hours being up it would open & I would be fine. In the last 2 weeks it has began stopping up and causing dizziness and nausea. I went to my primary care provider who said I had fluid in both ears but much more in my left ear and I was given a 5 day zithromax & steroids. It seemed better for about a week and now I m right back to where I was, and I also have painful echoing around louder noises in the ear as well. Not sure what to do or what is causing it. I also have allergies, which last year round. Any advice?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello, thank you for writing HCM.

The echoing (tinnitus) in the ear is caused due to infection in the middle ear. As per your details of fluids in both the ears, they get drained through medication. I suggest you to consult an expert ENT and audiologist who will evaluate your problem and find the right treatment. The following tests to be done prior to the further treatment.

1. Puretone audiometry
2. Impedance audiometry and reflexometry
3. Tinnitus evaluation.

All the best.
