Suggest Treatment For Dizziness And Blackouts

I have been feeling dizzy sometimes and fainted a few times. I will wake up and feel faint and have to sit and wait for the blackness to go away. I have headaches very frequently, almost everyday. The headaches have been going on for a few months now, but the dizzeness has been going on for about a year now. One day, i wasn t drunk (took about 3 shots) and i stood up to walk to my room and everything turned black and I fell down. I donate plasma often. My body temperature has been lower than usual.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi

Welcome in H.C.M.

I understand your concern, it appears that dizziness you are having may be because of-

A- Vascular insufficiency to balancing system.

B- Vestibular disorder.

Vascular insufficiency due to cardiac cause is characterised by sudden black out and dizziness is usually associated with anti gravity movement.

Vestibular disorder is giving vertigo with movement and patient feels better in static position.

To diagnose the disease one should do a thorough examination and co-relate the findings with inferences of these investigations-

1- E N G (electronystagmography).

2- Pure tone audiometry.

3- Impedance audiometry.

4- E. C. G.

5- Blood- blood sugar, serum sodium & potassium.

For all above you should consult your ENT doctor.

Thanks for consulting H.C.M.
