Suggest Treatment For Dilated Pupil

Hi, I was hit in my left eye by a bungee cord 6 days ago. My pupil dilated immediately and has not gone back to normal yet. I did go to the ER and to an Ophthalmologist. I am on Prednisolone. I am really worried that my pupil may not return to normal. How long can it take to heal? Thank you, Julie YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The treatment of mydriasis depends upon the cause. Your doctor may recommend opaque contact lenses or light-sensitive sunglasses to help during the course of treatment. In some cases, you may need surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
