Suggest Treatment For Difficulty In Breathing

Hi, Sir,

I am vivek and I am writing from India. i just want to know about the drawbacks of using Asthalin, as I am suffering from breathing problem for the last couple of years. Actually I came to know from my friends that prolonged using of same medicine will hamper my life and there are some negative impact . So if you could suggest me some tips or other alternative medicines or treatment to survive from the current situation that would be more helpful to me. So hope you understand the situation and do the needful.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
In my opinion you should first consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Chest x ray
2. PFT (pulmonary function test)
To rule out asthma and bronchitis.
And inhaled treatment is best for asthma and bronchitis. But the drug you are taking is not good for long term use.
Asthalin is having salbutamol. It is short acting beta 2 agonist. Its Action lasts for oy 2-3 hours. So short term relief is there. Newer inhaled bronchodilators like long acting beta 2 agonist(LABA) with inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) are preferred now. Their action last for 10-12 hours. So twice daily dosing is needed. They are more effective and less toxic then asthalin. So they should be started in your case.
Better to consult pulmonologist and diagnose yourself first. Then start appropriate treatment.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
