Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea In A Person With Vascular Dementia

85 year old male (my dad) has recently started having diarrhea on a fairly regularly basis. There have been no new medications, doesn t eat much unless it s something he likes, suffers from vascular dementia. Have taken him to dr, but dad says he isn t having any problems. I do not live with him. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Since your Father has vascular dementia, it is hard to believe him, what he says.
If diarrhea is present, it is a problem.
Hence I would advise him the following:
Consult a Doctor again.
Get stool and blood tests.
Get a proper medication as per the clinical evaluation and lab reports.
Ask the family members to observe which foods or beverages instigate or enhance the problems.
