Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea Caused By High Dose Of Tramadol

I have not passed faeces for over a week but have also barely eaten during that week. Yesterday I passed liquid faeces then thin soft faeces. Today I have almost constant tenesmus and have passed quite a lot of yellow mucus several times. I was taking tramadol at high dose for the past month so constipation is not unusual. I suspected potential bypass diarrhoea yesterday so took senna laxatives overnight but this has not helped. I am also lightheaded.

Hi,

Tramadol, an opioid can cause constipation. Constipation usually responds to ample hydration, exercise, and supplementation of dietary fiber.

Stimulant laxatives have potential hazards (e.g. dependence) associated with long-term laxative use. Senna may result in discolored yellow-brown or reddish urine. Factors potentially contributing to constipation is opioid analgesics and is to be avoided.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
