Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea And Weakness

Female age 23 5'1" 145lbs., I have had diarrhea for a week and a half wiith cramping right before I really need to go. Its a mustardish color and pudding like textured and I'm always tired..can sleep for a straight 12 hours and still feel exhausted. Hard to even stay focused at work. I don't think I have a fever but I always feel wherever I am its 100 degrees and I get light headed easily and sometimes feel as tho I could pass out. Not surre if all symptoms are realted but definitely getting worried. Pepto isn't helping anymore.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

I understand your concern. Some advice that I can give you are:

1) Use over-the-counter options such as Imodium (Loperamide).
2) Take frequent, small sips of water or a rehydration drink and small bites of salty crackers.
3) Begin eating mild foods the next day or sooner, depending on how you feel.

Hope this clarifies your concerns. Thank you for the query.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
