Suggest Treatment For Diabetes

Hello , I am a male 47 yrs. old and in 2011 was diagnosed with diabetes. I have lived a relatively normal life with no medical problems. My parents both suffered from hypertension and diabetes. I do not know if this is related but along with this condition, diabetes, I have noticed an increase in height. The military measured me in 1986 at 5 8.75 ft. Now I am 6 1.5 ft. I have also been noticing a sharp pain in my lower back. I believe this height increase started a few weeks ago. I have lived in San Antonio, TX for many years and for the past 2 years I been in South America- Peru if this has any relevance due to the change in climate or foods. Should I be concern ??

hi welcome to health care magic.
if you're pretty sure that there is a recent increase in the height at your age of 47, I must say this is certainly not a normal thing.

usually bones fuse at 20s and thereafter do not grow. If you are pretty sure that there are no measurement errors, I suggest you taking an appointment with an endocrinologist to check if there is any hormonal imbalance.
All the best
