Hello welcome to HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
To be honest I have never heard this name and gave doubt regarding this type of diabetes.

Any type of high blood sugar levels should respond to insulin. This much higher levels are not at all tolerable.
My advice to you is -

1. Consult an endocrinologist and start your son on proper dosage of insulin.
Combination of once a day long term insulin and short term insulins are better option.

2.You can ask your doctor to do his C - peptide levels, that will give idea whether insulin is formed in the body or not.

3.Do his FBS, PP2BS AND HBA1c report every 3 monthly for adequate sugar control.

Thank you.
Have a nice day.
