Suggest Treatment For Deviated Septum And Sinus Congestion

I am a 40 year old woman, five foot ten inches 165 pounds. I have been diagnosed with a deviated septum and left sinus congestion, due to no drainage. I am having a septoplasty and sinus surgery in 4 months. Lately, after eating I will sneeze or blow my nose and food will be expelled out of my right nostril. What should I do?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Septoplasty is done to straighten the deviated nose. And functional Endoscopic sinus surgery is done to clear the congestion in the nose with inappropriate drainage.

But it does not mean there will be a connection between oral and nose. It is completely out of question. Nose surgery has nothing to do with spillage of food from mouth. You do not need to worry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rajat Basak
