Suggest Treatment For Delayed Periods

My period is 8 days late, I have never been late more than a day. My projected date was August 8th 2015, and it is now the 16th. I ve been on birth control for a year and a half, I ve been on this one (ortho tri cyclen) for 7 months with no delayed periods, even before I was on it. I am now experiencing sorness in the ribs, nausea when I eat and some dizziness, tiredness, some breast pain and mild abdominal pain, NO spotting yet. I am also very bloated (more than usual) it feels stretched a bit, different from my usual bloating feeling. I ve had negative pregnancy tests, and a negative blood test @ 4 days late (8/14/15) But 4 days after that (today) I am experiencing more symptoms. I am not stressed or feeling out of the ordinary. If continues I will be going to a doctors but for now I feel like believing I am not pregnant isn t 100% just yet. I ve read tons of cases of women who don t show up until 7 weeks or later. I ve looked up ectopic pregnancies, or polycystic ovary syndrome or even miscarriages. Any idea what could be wrong?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I would suggest you to repeat the pregnancy test after a few days, since some women may take take time to show positive results. Blood HCG levels can also be taken. If the results are still negative, you should visit your doctor to rule out any hormonal or uterine disorders.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
