Suggest Treatment For Deep Wound In The Foot
My 25 yr old nephew stepped on a nail this afternoon. Went into the top of the ball of the foot towards his second and third toe. Probably went in maybe 1/2 inch. Cleaned it and applied Neosporin. Now it is slightly swollen and hurting extremely badly. What should we do?

He should be given Tetanus toxoid shot.
Clean the wound with antiseptic lotion and apply antibiotic cream.
If swelling, induration and pain increases there is likely of having infection and in this position he might require one course of antibiotic medicine after consulting your doctor.
If require ask him to raise his leg to reduce pain or swelling.
Ok and take care.
