Suggest Treatment For Dandruff And Scalp Psoriasis
my mother have Psoriasis in her head She keeps on scratching on it every time and shedding the dandruff scalps It was very small in size before but now it has been expanded in half back head. I suggest her to rub liquid petroleum jelly on it.and started taking homeopathic medicine r65 Kindly suggest the best and easiest way so that she may recover fast Thanks Rgds Amit

Scalp psoriasis presents as itchy, scaly patches akin to skin involvement. Scaling is thick and adherent.
Scalp psoriasis is a steroids responsive condition.
Twice daily application of a superpotent topical steroid lotion with or without salicylic acid, is very helpful in psoriatic patches.
Topical Vitamin D anlogues like calcipotriol, calcitriol etc are alternatives to topical steroids that can also be used in psoriatic involvement of scalp.
A daily shampoo, specifically a coal tar+salicylic acid based lotion would also benefit psoriasis.
Coal tar is antiinflammatory and antiproliferative properties and therefore benefits in psoriasis whereas salicylic acid helps exfoliates thick scaling that is usually associated with psoriasis.
These are prescription products.
