Hi,

You will need a thorough examination including a gynecological examination and possibly vaginal ultrasound to check the ovaries and the rest of the pelvic organs and rule out other gynecological conditions like infections, etc. It is uncommon for ovary cysts to cause so many problems and so much pains and pain extending to the ribs.

If you have solitary cysts or a few in number and they are more than 6 cm in diameter or they have structures inside (they are not described as simple cysts in ultrasound) then close observation of them is needed and possibly intervention to rule out important conditions of ovaries that might present as cysts.

Hope I have answered your query.
