Suggest Treatment For Coughing And Sneezing In A Child

My son is three years of age and he has been sneezing and coughing and has had a runny nose for the past three days. I took him to the doctor and he told me that my child has laryngitis. What causes laryngitis in a three year old child? and how can I treat it??

Hi,

Laryngitis is usually caused by viruses. This needs only supportive treatment with antihistamines and paracetamol. If there is no high-grade fever, she is otherwise active and playful and feeding well we need not worry she’ll be fine in 3 to 5 days.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
