Suggest Treatment For Cough

I have got this really irritating persistent, tickly hacky cough and have extremely bad coughing bouts. with a slight whistle each time I cough. Feel slight tightness during coughing but ok when coughing has seized for a while. It does help when I have either hot water to drink or cold water However it is most persistent at night. More or less at the same time each night It isn t as bad during the day time However first thing in the morning I do cough up Phlegm but I have also a nasty taste in my mouth only when coughing first thing. Had wisdom teeth out in march time also. I have been a smoker in the past but now I am an ex smoker for at least two years now I was wondering if this could be simply clearing my lungs out?

HI
Well come to HCM
Allergic bronchitis may be likely cause of cough, if this is more than couple of weeks then this need to be investigated for underlying cause rather than allergy, and x-ray study of chest and routine blood test is advisable, till then following medicine can be tried
1) Tab Loratidine with pseudoephedrine three times in day
try some pure honey at bed time, stop smoking, hope this information helps, have a nice day.
