Suggest Treatment For Cough, Sneezing, Pressure And Cramps In Lower Abdomen

I am having trouble in my lower extremities. I can t dementia flatulate well without forcing it and I experience major cramp or pressure in my lower abdominal wall below my navel and in my rectum/anus and my lower back. It hurts, bluntly, when I sneeze and cough too. Now the odd thing is that I have good bowel movements still which throws me as then if I had a blockage or swelling somewhere that would trap the gas, that it would also block the solid fecal matter

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the severity of cough may be corelative with the anal tone disturbances, as one can get loss of control of defecation or inadvertent staining of under gaments through urine or stool. Also, the many of the decongestants and cough formulations as codeine and others are associated with constipation tendency and choking up the intestines with cramps.

Guidelines at present:
- Drink more liquids to support the digestive system
- Check with your doc, whether any of the prescribed medications are not causing side effect over abdomen as many of the antibiotics as well pause issue with GI upset, gas in colon and else
- Regular aerobics and exercises
- Prefer high fiber diet with whole grains, cereals, pulses, legumes, green leafy veg
- Prokinetic agents as itopride and bulk forming laxative as Ispaghla husk do help great in selected cases when prescribed under medical supervision

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
