Suggest Treatment For Cough In Infant

6 months old male infant, presenting with cough of a week duration. cough worse at night but does not disturb sleep. Nil any other symptoms or sign. Immunization up to date aside from receiving BCG a bit late (6 weeks of age) following which he developed an abscess at the injection site which resolved spontaneously without treatment. healthy with a left arm BCG scar. all systems essentially normal. What advise would you give the parents

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
I have read your question in detail and i know that you are very concerned about your child but don't worry.
Since, child has only cough and no other symptom, it looks like a viral infection or URTI (upper respiratory tract infection.
In my opinion, you should give cough and cold drops like asthakind-p 0.5 ml three times a day for 3 days.
If cough is not improved in 48 hours or child has fever or fast breathing, then probably the child needs to be given antibiotics.
Review after 2 days.
