Suggest Treatment For Cough And Upper Abdomen Pain

I had violent coughing (due to chemical exposure) 2 days ago. I woke up yesterday to extreme pain in the lower chest/upper abdomen area. It hurts to move in basic movements, most painful when coughing or breathing deeply. I went to an after hours clinic today and found no broken ribs (thank God). my job requires walking & lots of movement (assisting the elderly). How can I heal properly when trying to work? What are the best methods in caring for bruised/sore ribs/

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, you are mostly having musculoskeletal chest pain due to excessive coughing.
So better to take antihistamine drug.
Also take painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs.
Apply warm water pad on affected areas.
Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise. Avoid movements causing pain. Avoid bad postures in sleep.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
