I've been having pain in my rib and down my right side for about 2 months now. I went to the doctor and he did an x-ray and it showed nothing. He also said my urine and oxygen levels were normal. My rib is very tender to touch, but doesn't hurt when I move, breath, cough, sneeze, etc. It's a dull pain except for today...it's hurting a little more, but I went to the doctor just yesterday and I think it's just maybe sore from his pushing and examining. The doctor was kind of stumped as to what it could be since the x ray showed nothing. He told me to take 3 ibuprofen 3x a day for 10 days. If it isn't better than come back and he isn't sure what he will do except maybe a scan of some kind. Any ideas what this could be? I haven't had any falls or accidents to injury my rib.
