Suggest Treatment For Cough And Pain In Chest

Morning Doc, I have been coughing for almost a week now and I can't control it at times. I cough thick yellow mucus in the mornings and dry coughs in the pm. Yesterday pm, my right chest started to hurt when I cough. I've been taking Mucinex Max and Robittussin PM. I'm wondering what your thoughts are on this? Should I see a Do? And why is my chest hurting? Thanks, -Anita

Dermatologist 's  Response
Dear friend.
Welcome to healthcaremagic.
This seems to be due to lower respiratory tract infection.
I would advise you to get following investigations :
1. Chest xray
2. Hemogram with ESR
3. Sputum for gram stain and culture.
Stay healthy

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if you do not have fever then this would be allergic cough and this can be managed with simple measurement like anti-histamine, Tab Loratidine with pseudoephedrine three time in day, you can also try pure honey prior to bed, take care.
