hello dr my son is 15 years old he had primary complex problem at his age of 2 3 years i hope ...after treatement he is cured now again he had continuous running nose problem and cold very often after xray dr told again there are symptoms and attack of the bacteria....so he has prescribed tablets for 15 days...after another xray we will plan... Is there anything to worry will he be alright....

This occurrence is not common hence I would advise you the following: - First of all get a CT scan of the chest done as this is diagnostic of whether your son is suffering from TB or something else. -You can opt for better blood tests like Gold quantferon for TB. -Sputum for AFB is another confirmatory tests. Anti-tubercular treatment must be given only if all these tests indicate that he has TB.
-Additional treatment of therapeutic dosages of vitamin A and D and multivitamins help to control the cold and coughing. Give symptomatic treatment for the respiratory tract infection and see the results. -You have to find out the things that may be causing the allergy/sneezing/coughing; it is not always TB that causes these symptoms.
