Suggest Treatment For Constipation

Today I went to the bathroom and I tend to have a lot of constipation when I am on my period which I am right now and when I wiped my anus there was a light brownish yellow colored discharge on the toilet paper. I have no idea what it could be but please get back to me as soon as possible. Thank you so much. Autumn

Hello
I understand your concern.
It is common to have constipation around the time of menstruation. It is possible that the strain from bearing down irritated the anus and caused a tear or fissure, or that caused a hemorrhoid and subsequent bleeding and or increased mucus production. There are various over the counter creams with the ingredient hydrocortisone that you can use.
To prevent constipation, remember to drink plenty of water, add lots of fiber to your diet ( 6 to 7 servings of fruits and vegetables a day) and increase physical activity.
