Suggest Treatment For Concussion, Dizziness And Headache

This past Monday July 4th, my friends and had went to the firework show. On our way home we went on some playground swings we had noticed, and after swinging on them for a while I decided to jump off. I must have hit the back of my head or had some whiplash from going down, but I must have not landed correctly. My friends said I was on the ground for around 30 seconds and when I tried to get up I stumbled and couldn t get to my feet without help. On the drive home I apparently kept asking what had happened over and over and was oblivious to what had happened. When we got home I was a little dizzy and still kind of out of it. Since then I ve had a little bit of dizziness here and there and a minor headache. Also my eyelid has been twitching or pulsating periodically and uncontrollably, and is annoying. For the most part I feel good, I have been working at the greenhouse I work at and been living life pretty much normally. I was in a bicycle accident and suffered a concussion back in the first weekend of May and saw a nurse who checked me out and determined I was ok then. I m wondering if I should be concerned about any of this from this Monday s incident including the eye twitch. Also if two concussions in two months is something to worry about and if it would be wise to go see a doctor or nurse again. -thanks, I look forward to your response.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You have a history of injury twice due to concussions. Presently you have dizziness, headache, eye twitchings; you are suggested to visit a GP, get clinically assessed, get all required Blood & Imaging tests done.

If concussion injuries persist for a longer time without being treated worsening of the symptoms occur. Neurological & vision problems occur. Your treatment will depend upon the pathology detected. You may need medicines, lens or surgery for the eyes. Brain or skull injuries will be treated as required.

Neglect in the long term causes trouble concentrating, sleep disturbances, memory problems, depression & other psychological problems.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
