Suggest Treatment For Colitis

I have recurring Colitis and have given up coffee, wine and all alcohol, dairy products and cut way down on red meat. I eat mostly chicken and fish, cooked veggies and rice and oatmeal and bananas when having an attack. When feeling OK I eat a lot of salads and fruit as well. I have cut way back on sugar also-use stevia for sweetener and allow myself one dessert per day. Every time I have an attack I become extremely tired, and have an awful back ache. Could this be something other than colitis? My colonoscopy did show microscopic colitis and I have never had any other negative results.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.,
Noted the history recurring colitis, diagnosed as microscopic colitis on colonoscopy and the rest of the reports are normal.
You have given up coffee, wine, alcohol, dairy products, cut down on red meat; takes chicken, fish, fruits, cooked vegetables, rice, oatmeal, bananas. When in attack there is tiredness, awful back ache, wants to know whether this is colitis or something else.
Since colonoscopy has already been done showing microscopic colitis, the diagnosis is obvious but since other reports are normal we can think of added IBS, that is irritable bowel syndrome or can have intolerance to the products that you have to stop.
Only a keen observation will be show the factors that instigate or enhance the problems. You have to stop all these factors. This includes the stress and or anxiety which needs proper control.
