Suggest Treatment For Cold Sore On The Cheeks

Hi I ve woken up with a cold sore on my cheek but a doctor that I saw last time I had one said it s acne and gave me otocomb otic ointment to use on it and it worked and got rid of it, but I feel as though this time it s spreading it. It was so quite little this morning when I put the cream on and now it looks as though is raised a bit more and a tiny bit bigger. Is it because it needs to grow a tiny bit over the first day of having it and eventually the cream will kick in and slowly decrease it and kill the bacteria?

Hi,

Cold sore is due to viral infection and it commonly occurs in clusters of fluid-filled sores.

A single sore can be a pimple or a hair follicle infection.

In case if it got better previously also with antibiotic ointment then it also points towards bacterial infection.

So my suggestion is to continue applying antibiotic ointment over it and you can see it will gradually start shrinking in a day or two.

Along with it do cool compresses over it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
