Suggest Treatment For Cold, Headache, Nasal Congestion And Sore Throat

So recently, I developed a cold- it started out with just a head ache, nasal congestion and a sore throat. The next morning I woke up with a full-blown cold. I took Tylenol the night before and that morning but later I began vomiting anything I put into my system, even sips of water. Once everything was out of my stomach, I started throwing up yellow/green mucus. It has been 3 days since and the vomiting has stopped but the cough is still around. I am also coughing up brown and yellow phlegm. I smoke once a day for about 4 months now...should I be concerned?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

As per your complain it seems to be a severe upper respiratory tract infection leading to formation of mucous or phlegm along with the symptoms of nasal congestion, headache and sore throat..
Vomiting seems to be due to side effect of medication..
-Gargle with a warm saline solution..

-Take a combination of decongestant like Phenylephrine, mucolytic like Ambroxol and anti allergic levocetrizine and also take Ibuprofen to relieve pain..
You can also take Ondensarton if there is vomiting and nausea..
You should also take Omeprazole empty stomach to prevent hyperacidity due to medications...
-Take cough expectorant containing Gueifenesin and cough suppressant containing Dextromethorphan.

-Chew a Vitamin C pellet daily..

-Do steam inhalations..

-Avoid spicy and chilled foods..

-Sip on warm water throughout the day..

-Do warm compresses over chest..

In case if still there is no improvement consult an emergency room and get evaluated..

Hope this helps..

Thanks and regards.
