Suggest Treatment For Coccyx Fracture

I fell about 2-3 weeks ago on the concrete steps, landing on my coccyx. Just a week ago I began having severe pain to my coccyx. Is there any kind of treatment to a coccyx fracture. I did not get it x-rayed because I did not initially feel pain. What caused the pain to develop after 2 weeks from the fall?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Pain in coccygeal area or base of spine after a fall needs to be followed by a X-ray.
Trauma caused due to fall can lead to bony fracture or soft tissue injury.
Onset of pain days after trauma is less likely to be due to fracture.
However, fracture needs to be ruled out.
Thus, I suggest you consult an orthopedician and get a X-ray of lower spine.
Fracture, bony lesions, soft tissue swellings can be picked up by X-ray.
In the meanwhile, you may take pain killer and muscle relaxant to relieve the pain.
Soft tissue injury usually accompanied trauma caused by falls so pain killer and muscle relaxant will help relieve the pain.
Hot fomentation will also help to provide symptomatic relief.

Thanks and take care
