Suggest Treatment For Circular Red Rash On The Breast

3 days ago I woke up with a large circular red rash under my left breast. The centre skin was normal....but outline was red, about 1/2 inch wide, one area was peeling in a circle across redness and clear skin. It is located 3/4 on the under part of my breast and 1/4 on midriff. A similar but much small circle appear a similar place on the right breast the following day. Initially no itchiness but yesterday it was. I have never had anything like this before....????

Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

This seems like a fungal infection/tinea corporis.
Fungal infections usually present as annular or circular patches; there is central clearing and peripheral red, raised, somewhat scaling margins. Itching is a prominent symptom in superficial fungal infection of the skin.
Diagnosis is usually obvious on physical examination. A KOH preparation, to look for fungal elements can be confirmatory in doubtful cases.
I would suggest that you may try an OTC antifungal e.g clotriamzole 1% cream, twice daily for 2-4 weeks.
An Oral antifungal e.g fluconazole Or terbinafine may also be started for extensive involvement and spreading lesions. Oral antifungals are prescription drugs
An OTC oral antihistamine.g cetrizine 10 mg once daily will provide you symptomatic relief from itching.

Regards
