I took 2 rounds of accutane when I was a teenager (14 and 16) and also went on the depo shot (17). I am now 22 and suffer from chronic stomach pain and depression. I know they can both cause depression and when I was 14 I thought about suicide openly and secretly after I saw how much it hurt my mom. The doctors cant figure out whats wrong with my stomach so they are saying IBS but the pain is in one concentrated spot so it doesnt make sense. I have trouble with my bowels also, so I guess IBS can be part of it. I am wondering if all of this could be caused by accutane or the depo shot or them combined? I has a laporoscopy (Im not sure how to spell it, the scope that goes through the belly button)to see if it was endometriosis, its not. I am seeing a counselor because of previous trama, to see if its chronic functional abdominal pain. I was told its when you are sexually, physically or emotionally abused and I have had all 3. I also go to someone who does something like massage therapy. This has helped some but the pain is still there. I am on celexa for the depression, zantac for the acid reflux, dicitel for the IBS and the nuva ring for birth control now.
