Suggest Treatment For Chronic Pancreatitis

My name is Michael Brown,I have had chronic pancreatitis since the age of 13 due to duct obstruction.After 33 years of battling the pancreatitis I underwent the Whipple surgery in November of 2014.I had many complications after the surgery.I was leaking digestive fluid into my abdominal area and it ate thru my splenic artery in early December and I almost died but they stopped it in time.There was the tail of my pancreas left after the Whipple and it was left for insulin purposes.Believe it or not I still continue to have pancreatic problems and alot of discomfort and pain.My only options I m told are to remove the remaining pancreas and instantly become full blown diabetic or enter pain management and live with narcotics the rest of my life.I would like to hear the opinion of some doctors as to the options I am faced with.Thank you.

Chronic pancreatitis should be treated with antibiotics and other supportive treatment.

You should be immediately evacuated with higher antibiotics with other supportive and fluid electorlyte replacment, if you are diabetic with uncontrolled sugar then it could be due to chronic pancreatic cells inflammation.

After treatment or residual pancreatectomy I would suggest to take insulin or oral hypoglycemics with strict avoidance of sugar in diet means strictly control your blood sugar.

The decision of this pancreatic removal should be taken according to patients other condition and blood reports by the gastro surgeon.

There might be more chances of uncontrolled diabetics to get this type of infection easily.

The complete recovery time may be 10 to 20 days after discharge from hospital, till you should take complete bed rest.
