Suggest Treatment For Chronic Otitis

Good day! Doc In my case i was diagnosed chronic otitis media 2 years ago and i was advised by my dr. to undergo surgery because my result of my ct scan of the temporal and mastoids (plain) is chronic coalescent left otomastoiditis. Then i tried to find another dr. just to have a comparison if my case is a surgical case. My second dr. advised me to have check up every 6 months for observation and no meds given. After my every 6 months check up i had my annual check up to present. She said there s no infection and cholesteatoma noted. What does it mean doc? Do i still have to undergo surgery? And why she didn t give me a medication for this?? Thank you doc for sparing your time reading my case.

hi
I can understand your concern
First your were diagnosed with chronic otitisamd mastoditis and now you were being told that you are fine
1.sir first of all do you still have hearing problem, discharge from ear.
2. in case you are symptoms free in form of discharge then that doesn't mean that your problem is gone, that just mean infection has settled down
3. if you are having hearing problem then you should visit and ENT surgeon for further consult and examination
4. personally I feel mastoditis generally requires surgery, however it's difficult to be sure in your case without proper examination and imaging.
please do consult nearby ENT surgeon
