Suggest Treatment For Chronic Headaches

My husband has chronic headaches. He has degenerative disc disease cervical spine, sleep apnea, a mild seizure disorder, carpal tunnel and arthritis. I am thinking the headaches are caused from the cervical spine problems. He has had 2 lami surgeries, c spine and lumbar. He has been seen by our primary care doc and his neurologist in re: pain and med changes. I think it is time to go back to the ortho surgeon?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi.

I understand your concern.

Chronic headache has many origin.
It may be due to a part of psychological stress of having multiple medical problems or it may be due to cervical disc problem.

History regarding onset / episodic / type /frequency etc can help.

If associated with vomiting / blurring vision / dizziness then neurological examination is must.

Psychological stress can cause chronic headache and require medicine.

Tricyclic antidepressant like amitriptiline / nor tryptiline in low dose along with anxiolytic medicine can help.

Consult psychiatrist /neurologist for better assistance.
Thank you. Get well soon.
Take care.
