Had surgery on April 22, experienced severe constipation as a result, took prescribed medications for a month and still constipated as of Nov 9. Able to get small nuggets out a couple times a week however haven t pooped in 3 days now. Today I had a burning sensation in my urination (which i thought was an oncoming UTI) but i noticed blood in my urination a little while ago. 18, female, 6 months post knee surgery
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of chronic constipation which can occur due to many reasons and it is extremely important to find out the exact cause. Need not to worry. Drink one spoon of honey in warm water daily. You should add laxatives in diet and you can apply esbogol as well around anal area opening. I would advise you to consult your physician or gastroenterologist and get examination done like complete blood count, stool examination, ultrasound scan of abdomen, and colonoscopy examination. You should start treatment after complete examination. Doctor may prescribe you traditional drugs like lactulose, milk of magnesia and cremaffin or bisacodyl tablets.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
