Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been treated for TNBC and hormone receptive cancer. Treatment was completed AUGUST OF 2015. I just had all of the bold word and mammogram and well woman s exams about 2 weeks ago. I had lost about 20 pounds since my last appointment about 6 months ago. I don t have much of an appetite and fell nauseous several times a day with fullness and heaviness upon eating. I have chronic back pain due to degenerative disk disease and failed surgeries at l-5 S1 and C3-T2. Both failed. I have been breaking a sweat in both day and night. Today I have had much more pain than in general in my sacrum and mid spine. My oncologist did tumor markers blood work and said everything was good. My question is the obvious, could it be cancer or related to possible side effects of chemo?
As a first line management you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief. You can go for a bone scan to rule out mets. If pain is severe, you can opt for steroid injection.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
