Suggest Treatment For Child Suffering From Constipation And Passing Hard Stools
Hello :) My 8 month old daughter has been constipated for the last week straining and eventually passing hard stools. I have given her coloxyl which works temporarily but then returns constipated. Her diet hasn t changed, I have been giving her plenty of pureed fruit and extra bottles but nothing seems to be working. It just seems so sudden that this has happened when she has been on solids for the last 2 months with no problems. Do you have any suggestions and at what point should I start worrying more than I am now!?
I've gone through your query. I can understand your anxiety.
I advice you to follow the below tips to overcome "Constipation ". 1. Diet with good fibre content like green leafy vegetables. 2. Excess intake of water. 3.Fruits : Bananas, figs. Especially dry figs, black currants soaked overnight can be given daily 4. Syrup. Lactulose 15ml & a glass of water given daily or Isopgul 1tsp in milk or water daily at night 5. Train regular toilet habits. 6. Still not relieved, better to consult your pediatrician for a rectal examination to detect any fissure or any other painful conditions.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.
