Suggest Treatment For Chest Pain And Abnormal Heart Rate

23 years old, went to the doctor for chest pressure, felt like someone was pushing a baseball into me right below the throat, no shortness of breath just surface pressure/pain. they did blood work (it was fine) blood pressure and an ekg (all Fine) doctor said i had GERD and a chest infection.(am over weight, no history of heart problems, stopped smoking 4 months ago) been taking omeprazole for 28 days along with lots of tums, chest pains still occurring off and on in the center of my chest. or the left lung area, or the arm pit area. doesn't get worse with physical activity, starts normal while sitting or after eating. some times it feels like my heart is beating strangely, still worried about heart attack.

Hello

If you have GERD then it very well explains your symptoms and above that you are quite young to have a heart attack. But its advisable that you should take one Treadmill Test to rule out the possibility of inducible ischemia since you are an ex smoker. If that turns out to be alright then you need not worry for a heart attack.

Also follow up with a gastroentrologist for opinion and treatment plan for GERD.

Regards
