Suggest Treatment For Cervical Arthritis Between C2 And C6
Cronic neck pain for many years - no relief from deep tissue massage or chiropractic work - I am very active and 61 years old, have had multiple falls and broken bones due to skiing - 5 yrs ago orthopedic did tell me when clavical xrays were reviewed that there seemed to be signs of arthirtus. Pain seems to be on the side of my neck between c2 c6 -- any thoughts on next course of action ?
Thanks for asking at Healthcare Magic. I read your question and I understand your concern. Chronic neck pain not relieving with deep tissue massage and chiropractic work needs workup. Do MRI cervical spine to look for the underlying etiology; Which may arthritis, bony spur or bulging disc. Also do CRP, it will be raised in acute inflammation and ESR, raised in chronic information. Continue neck muscle strengthening Excersizes, Avoid abnormal posture. Take Pain killer like Naproxen 500 mg Twice daily. Let the doctor see your report of MRI to settle the dilemma.
