Suggest Treatment For Celiac Disease

Hi my daughter had a positive skin prick result to wheat, followed by a negative blood test result for wheat. She was however found to carry the gene for celiac disease. I am not sure whether to let her have wheat or not. Mostly I feed her gluten free food, but she has the odd cake at a party or at a friends houseas our doctor said she can eat it. I Guess I am wondering if she should avoid it totally?

Hello.......
Coeliac disease is a multi factorial genetic disorder. As you mentioned that genetically she carries Coeliac disease but she is asymptomatic.Sometimes, containing the gene of any disease does not mean that any body suffering from that disease.
If she becomes symptomatic after taking gluten then better to avoid those foods but if she has no symptoms after taking those foods then my advise is not to worry regarding that disease and you can give some gluten diets also but keep observing regularly.

Thank You
