Suggest Treatment For Canker Sores In A Child

I have a 12 year old grandson who was diagnosed with canker sores, well he has only continued to get worse. He has run a fever for 4 days now, and the inside of his mouth is full of blister type sores, he has been on a Z-pac and was also diagnosed with bronchitis, I am a nurse and I can tell you he does not have bronchitis. I don t understand the fever, headaches and the spreading of the blisters in and on the outside of his mouth. Please help

Thanks for the query..

Well, the symptoms are pointing towards viral infection and the sores are probably due to viral infection and not probably canker sores..
As the viral infection commonly resolves once it completes its life cycle in human body..
As of now you can give her a combination of Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen..
You can also apply numbing gel containing Lidocaine over the sores to reduce pain..
You can also make him do warm saline gargles..
You can also consult a Paediatrician and if needed a course of antiviral medication like Acyclovir can be advised..
