Suggest Treatment For Calcium Deposit In The Right Foot

My foot is swollen and an xray revealed that I have calcium deposits. How do treat this problem? I am a 64 year old woman who works, am basically trim and fit, and exercise a lot and at first the doctor thought that I might have a stress factor. He told me to rest and ice it and to take ibuprofen .Is that the best thing to do?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It could be an age related change only, However we have to rule out possibilities like gout also. As of now continue ice compression. If symptoms persists better to consult an orthopedician and get evaluated. Serum uric acid has to be evaluated to rule out gout.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
