Hi there,

Although more common in females, your symptoms may be due to interstitial cystitis, which is inflammation of the bladder. This is not due to an infection, but rather bladder irritation which gives a burning and irritated sensation, similar to an infection. I'd recommend trying ibuprofen and pyridium, both of which can be taken over the counter.

If your symptoms persist, a bladder ultrasound would be the next best test.

I hope this is helpful. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
