Suggest Treatment For Burning And Redness On Lips

Burning and redness of my lip and the area above my lip (primarily on one side) clnord. I have always been a sun person and I am sure this is sun related as it is extremely painful after being in the sun and continues for several days after. I am thinking possibly some form of sun poisoning. As of yesterday I am using aloe on the area above my lip, right to the edge of my lip and then Vaseline and/or chapstick on my lips. I am trying to avoid the sun all together.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of burning and redness on lips which seems to be due to excessive exposure to sunlight leading to sun burn and hyper-pigmentation.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid exposure to sun rays and cover your face if ever go outside. Suck on ice pops. Use TAN CARE or sunscreen rich in SPF 30 while exposure to sun. You should use combination of cucumber and lemon juice. Your symptoms will start resolving in 7-10 days. If condition doesn't get better in a month then consult dermatologist again for proper diagnosis and to rule out any underlying condition. Doctor may prescribe steroid ointment or antibiotics course.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
