Suggest Treatment For Bump With Pustule On Scalp

I have a big bump on my head. It s noticeable when I look straight and has little hair on it. It has a hole in it where the puss resides. Eventually it pusses so much of yellow and red and sits on the top of my head that I have to shower. I have been taking 3 showers a day and it got to the point where I m too scared to put shampoo near it so I don t wash it. And once I shower you can see how clear it is and doesn t even look that effected. It just looks bad when it pusses. I m really scared it s going to effect my brain and I will die.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is not likely not it would extend to your brain but you should have it assessed and treated.

Treatment may involve: (1) the use of antiseptic cleaning solution at least twice a week
(2)topical antibiotics
(3)it is possible that it may need to be incised and drained at your doctor's office

Incision and drainage encourages complete healing.

I hope this helps
