Suggest Treatment For Bump On Lip

Hey I have a bump on my lip, actually a new one grew. There is absolutely no pain and is barely visible and is the same color as my lip. There not tiny but not big either. They are on the outer part of my lip and if I push my tongue into the inner part of my lip opposite of the bump they turn white like blood isn t circulating through them. I smoke cigars every now and then so that scared me that it was oral cancer. I m 18. And I am pretty healthy I eat right for the most part and I exercise. I heard it could be a sunburn bump or a skin tag or even a cold sore. If you re really seeing this please email me YYYY@YYYY !

Hi Dear,

welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern.

As per your query you have symptoms of bump on lip which is mainly white in color is because of herpes simplex virus infection i.e symptoms of cold sore. It occurs because of lowered immunity of body due to excessive cigarette smoking and autoimmune causes.

Need no to worry about it. Visit general practitioner once and get oral examination and visual examination done. If its not identifiable then go for culture by taking sample with the help of swab to determine if bacteria, viruses, or fungi may be causing the bumps. If doctor doubts you may have oral cancer, a tissue sample can be collected to test for malignant cells.

Avoid pricking it. Use antiviral ointments such as rich in acyclovir. Wash face frequently, only with water without use of any chemical agent. Your symptoms will resolve soon. Avoid smoking as it will exaggerate your symptoms.

Cover skin while exposure to sunlight. Drink lots of water and fluids to re hydrate body.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
